Youth Board Launch - Children and Young People's Services

We are proud of our trust member, North London Mental Health Partnership, for launching their Youth Board. This dynamic and passionate group of young individuals is set to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of mental health support for the next generation.

The Trust recognises the importance of including young voices in conversations about mental health. The Youth Board will be a key driver in advocating for positive system change, bringing the unique perspectives and experiences of children and young people to the forefront. By actively involving them in decision-making processes, we aim to create a mental health support system that is more responsive, inclusive, and effective.

Key objectives of the Youth Board:

  1. Amplifying Voices: The Youth Board will serve as a platform for young individuals to share their stories, challenges, and triumphs. By amplifying their voices, we hope to reduce stigma, increase awareness, and foster a more compassionate understanding of mental health.
  2. Informing Service Design: Our goal is to ensure that mental health services are tailored to meet the diverse needs of children and young people. The Youth Board will actively contribute to the design and development of our programs, providing valuable insights that will shape the future of mental health support.
  3. Advocating for policy change: Beyond our organisation, the Youth Board will engage in advocacy efforts to influence policy changes at local, regional, and national levels. By collaborating with stakeholders and policymakers, they will champion the cause of improved mental health services for all young individuals.

This is a group of inspiring individuals who have shown a deep commitment to mental health advocacy pictured below with Haleemah Ahmed, as assistant psychologist at Barnet CAMHS and King Agyapong our CAMHS co-production lead.

Please support the Youth Board's initiatives and stay connected with their progress. Make sure to encourage with our posts on the trust social media accounts, attend virtual events, and participate in discussions as they work together to create a brighter future for children and young people's mental health.
